Project Teams
GBT FEIP Design Team
This project is being led by GBT. In November 2008, GBT prepared and issued a request for proposals for a team to complete the design of this project. The team was selected based predominantly on their experience with the design and construction of transit maintenance facilities. However, the selection panel also considered and heavily weighed regulatory compliance (the ability to rapidly and successfully complete NEPA documentation and not delay the project), the team’s experience in the use of recycled or renewable materials in construction, and the uses of alternative energy sources in the construction/operation of the facility and experience in LEED Certified construction projects. The team selected and working on this project today includes:
- Wendel Duchsherer, Architects and Engineers — Amherst, New York
- Clough Harbor Associates, LLC — Rocky Hill, Connecticut
- Fitzgerald & Halliday — Hartford, Connecticut (D/MBE firm)
- Construction Cost Systems, Inc. — Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois (MBE)
Wendel Duchsherer (WD) is a nationally recognized architectural and engineering firm. The WD Public Transportation Group has helped cities and transit agencies around the country to improve and modernize their transit services. They have extensive experience and expertise in bus maintenance and multi-modal facility design. Since 1975 they have completed over 70 public transportation projects on-time and within budget.
Clough Harbour & Associates (CHA) is a full service engineering firm with award winning experience in a broad array of transportation projects. CHA brings to this project extensive experience in the design of similar facilities and expertise in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and the LEED certification process. Their Hartford, Connecticut office is leading the engineering portion of this project.
Fitzgerald & Halliday, Inc (FHI) is a full service planning consulting firm with expertise in transportation and environmental services. FHI will be leading the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance work associated with this project. FHI has completed NEPA documents for numerous projects in Connecticut alone and NEPA work is already underway for this project.
Construction Cost Systems, Inc. (CCS) will be preparing construction cost estimates for every phase of the project. Scope control is critical to the success of any construction project. CCS will be providing timely, detailed cost estimates that will serve as bench marks and to validate budgets as the design evolves. CCS brings over 20 years of construction cost estimating, including numerous transit facilities, to the project.
